Do you know how much Manoj Night Shayamalan earns out of a script? It's $5 million..( Three times more than any icon player gets for a season in IPL !) And he is a Malayali from Palakkad, of course.
It's said that started making movies as early as the age of 8 and by the age of 16 he had 45 movies to his credit. These days each of his movie's DVD comes out with a Short film taken during his childhood, of which most of them are hilarious. Shyamalan is reputed of making horror movies without any special effects which has become his trademark. It's believed that Shyamalan was legally confirmed dead for nearly a half hour while drowned in a frozen pond in a childhood accident, and that upon being rescued he has had experiences of communicating with spirits, though there are a few controversies relating to this incident.
He was recently awarded the Padmashree award by the govt of India honoring his works. Most of his movies were a hit with biggest hit being the 'Sixth Sense'. He has written scripts to all time Hits such as the 'Stuart little'. He is married to Bhavna Vaswani with two children. He is renouned of making cameo appearances in his movies like the doctor in the 'Sixth Sense'. He is definitly an outstanding personality and Keralites and moreover Indians could be proud of him. I am truly, deeply, madly inspired by him.
