A review on 'Dasavatharam'

Let me begin with the fact that, every single paise spent on movies is infact a national wastage (as long as it doesn't bring foreign money). The lastest film by Kamal Hassan, Dasavatharam turned out to be a very pityful movie for a few viewers like me. A movie which would have been much neater, better and above all cheaper if the there would been 10 different people acting the 10 different roles done by Kamal Hassan. The movie gave me an impression that its done only for the sake of glorification of Kamal Hassan as an actor. Perhaps there seems to be an on going competition between Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan about who is going to make a bigger bugdet movie rather than a better movie. Dasavatharam's story line is poor and the way it has shot is pathetic. Scenes where a steady cam would have been enough was shot with different cameras with some cameras on crane, others on trolley etc. Although I respect and admire the stunning effort put in Visual effects, specially the Tsunami scene at the end.
Film makers and producers must take care the value of money before they dump it into the cinema with a view, not just about the returns they would get out of the film but also the quality of the content they are going to showcase to millions people across the globe.

no... we are not against tamil movies or something.... art in any form is good and we appreciate it. But i prefer to defend myself over the opinion of dasavatharam as its not a great movie at all... it might be inspired by mythology and those director might have spend years on the script, but its still a pity that everything look so made up and artificial...

the film had a very gud story, but they adjusted the script for 10 roles, kamal could have done with 5 roles and would have made the movie a masterpiece. but here too much of everything spoiled the movie
