A review on 'De Taali'

If you are that kind of guy who looks forward to seeing serious meaningful cinema, then De Taali just isn't for you. Its that kind of movie which you can go out and watch on a night out without much expectations!! Yup, the plot of the movie is good old "Love", something that has been done like a thousand times. That doesn’t make the movie boring by any standards. Its just that we feel like watching some good old classics ranging from Dil Chatha Hai to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Dil Tho Pagal Hai.

The movie revolves around three good buddies - Paglu (Riteish Deshmukh), Abhi (Aftab Shivdasani) and Amu (Ayesha Takia). Watching the movie makes us wonder where these guys like coz we see them from Bombay to Singapore. Hmm that’s interesting isn't it? The first half is quite ok. It’s the second half that turns the table on the viewers. Amu falls in love with Abhi. So predictable!! but anyway now bollywood flicks are supposed to be like that right? Obviously Abhi doesn't have a feeling like that to Amu, that’s when Rimi Sen comes in. She plays a role similar to Rani Mukherjee in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But this time around she's after Abhi's money. What happens next? Well we cant tell you that. For that you have to watch the movie for yourself.

What I liked most about this film is that (though the plot isn't that great) all the lead characters have done a really good job with their roles. Especially Ritesh, with his quick reactions and sweetness really impresses. May it be the tomboyish Ayesha Takia or the rich Aftab or Rimi all have done a pleasing job.

So for all you light hearted movie bubs this is a film for you. But on a serious note don’t bother to go for the film if like us you too feel that cinema is a national waste as long as it doesn’t bring foreign money...
