The roads are your vehicles' parking lots. In fact, in places such as Penta Menaka, only half the lane is for moving traffic. The rest of it is for parking. ;-)
Rate of change of speed is velocity. Rate of change of velocity is acceleration. Rate of change of acceleration is ??? Jerk! (pun intended. :P) Hold on to something tightly while traveling. A constant switch of foot between the acceleration and the brake pedals will make you feel like you are riding a horse!
The minimum fare for auto is 12 rupees. Don't pick a fight with the auto driver as soon as he 'downs' the meter (rarely though) that he is cheating you.
There are lots of 'girls' in Ernakulam. So do try and get there names right, like Menaka, Padma....its easy, all you need is passion. lol!!!
Never ask the distance between two places. Always ask the time taken to reach B from A for tentative timings. For more specific answers, mention the day and time of traveling, for example, how long will it take to go from Edappally to Kacheripady on a Saturday evening?
Footpaths are officially the second lane of the road. Feel free to drive . Pedestrians, Signal if you want to walk.
Quite a lot of languages work in Ernakulam, but dont try and hide your native tongue, Malayalees' will get you sooner or later...
